Wow It's been such a long time since I updated and I can definitely tell since lots of people have started defriending me and all. No worries. Everyday is defriending amnesty day for me. Anyway, I finally have access to some decent internet for a week or so, so gotta take advantage of that to post a little news update. Can't really say everything I want to say cuz that will take ages and ages and I think my dad wants to use the internet to go do his fortune-telling chat thingy...don't ask.

But Beijing was SO MUCH BETTER than I expected it to be. I made some wonderful friends, got closer to people I knew, and just connected to a culture that I belong to by default but have not always felt a part of. Learning Chinese everyday wasn't so much a challenge as being willing to let go of what's comfortable and familiar. Making myself not speak English when with other USC kids was especially difficult. Lucky that I had the most hard-working student as my roommate, who wanted to speak English only an hour a day at first. In the end, I didn't want to leave and I definitely teared up in the car, which kinda freaked out the cab driver a little. But at least I left early morning so pretty much everyone was asleep and wouldn't be up to see me off, otherwise I probably would've been even more sad. It's all good though cuz Huang laoshi was there along with my 3 best new Chinese buddies (They wake up early everyday, even Sunday) and Luke, who I miss tons and tons already. I can freaking do bridge now thanks to you. *high five*

Anyways, to my flist: I'm sorry I haven't been around for an entire month but it couldn't be helped. Feel free to defriend if you feel I haven't been around enough because it's entirely justified. I probably won't be able to update significantly for a whole 'nother month. For those who still want to hang around, nothing but all my love for you guys. You're the best!

I finally realized that the key to faster internet in China is to not use Firefox! Go figure. I'm not complaining or anything though. I can actually post entries and load pages with actual pictures on them now. \o/

I still am criminally behind my flist and my courseload here guarantees I won't be able to go back and even read all the posts but I have been recced many items, which I will get to ASAP. aww, thanks for all the concerned voices out there concerning my upcoming trip and the Great Firewall of China but as it turns out having a secure VPN client will let you bypass the firewall. Social sites that are often blocked include Google News, Typepad, ebay, Blogger blogs, YouTube, Facebook, Bebo, Myspace, Orkut, MySpace, Pandora, Bebo, Photobucket, Yahoo! Messenger, AOL AIM, Flickr, last.fm, etc.

RAWR! WHAT THE HELL?! You guys, YOUTUBE! FACEBOOK! PHOTOBUCKET! Sites I access like a bajillion times a day. China is trying to break my spirit ya'll.

-Didn't know thumb muscle cramps were possible. Now I do. owie

-Ambulance, fire truck, and police pulled up to my neighbors house and took a woman away. She was wailing "OMG,PLEASE. *waily scream* OMG, OMG, I'M GONNA DIE*sobsob*" over and over. creeeeeeepy. Found out I'm really scared of police when this was all happening. I didn't even really see policemen. Yeah, I don't get myself either.

-SCHOOL IS OVAH!!! I think I shall celebrate by watching lots and lots of TV. And not thinking about how much I bombed 2 of my finals.

-Watched Iron Man again and it really did not diminish in cool. so yay. Dad was highly skeptic of engineers like Stark existing. Besides the DUH, I ask who'd want to watch a regular engineer go around...not being Iron Man? :D

-Flist likes to jump 150 posts whenever I check it. You guys are mean. I love you guys.

-Am leaving for China in 7 days. Not freaking out even though I still can't speak Chinese very well. :/

I have never been so behind on TV before. So, I'm going to devote my first weekend after the end of classes to catching up. Saturday, I dub thee WATCHDAY...or the day my eyesight decreases 20 degrees.

In between House, Bones (2 eps!!...i fail), Battlestar, Lost, Gossip Girl, and rewatching Supernatural (which I've already watched because HELLO! Number one priority :D) I shall try to catch up with you guys dear flist.
